Repricer: Strategies
Create and manage pricing strategies, switch them between Live and Monitor, and turn the master Push to Amazon switch on or off.
What it's for
A strategy is a set of pricing choices: how far under an FBA seller to go, whether to chase Amazon, what to do when you hold the buy box, and so on. Each listing on the Repricer uses one strategy.
On the Strategies tab you:
- Turn the master switch (Push to Amazon) on or off.
- See every strategy and how many listings use it.
- Switch each strategy between Live (sends prices to Amazon) and Monitor (only logs what it would do).
- Create, edit and delete your own strategies.
Everything you change on this tab is (admins only).
Where to find it
In the left sidebar, open Inventory β Repricer, then click the Strategies tab. The Manage button on the Overview tab also opens it.
The screen at a glance
The master switch
The bar at the top shows whether Push to Amazon is on.
- OFF (grey): nothing is sent to Amazon, even for strategies marked Live. Decisions are only logged.
- ON (red): every Live strategy sends real price changes to Amazon.
When it is on, the bar also shows how many prices are queued for the next bulk feed, and the result of the last feed (how many prices, and whether Amazon accepted them all).
Strategy cards
Each card shows:
- The strategy's name and colour, and a LIVE or monitor tag.
- A fixed tag for built-in presets. Their logic is OrderPilot's own. You can't see or edit it, but you can switch them Live or Monitor.
- For your own strategies, a summary of each choice: FBA gap, Amazon Retail, FBM same delivery, delivery speed, objective, rate cap, creep up, jump and no-competition behaviour.
- The Live switch, the number of listings, and Edit and π buttons (your own strategies only).
Buttons and actions
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Master switch | (admins only) Turns Push to Amazon on or off. Turning it ON asks you to confirm, because every Live strategy will start sending real price changes. |
| π€ Send all brain prices now | (admins only) Shown when the master switch is on. Asks you to confirm, then runs the brain for every listing on a Live strategy with repricing on, and queues the new prices. They go to Amazon in bulk feeds, up to 10,000 prices per feed, every 10 minutes. Progress shows on the Jobs page. |
| + New strategy | (admins only) Opens the strategy editor for a new strategy. |
| Live switch (on a card) | (admins only) Switches the strategy between Live and Monitor. Going Live asks you to confirm. Listings that another repricer is still changing stay watch-only until they've been quiet for 24 hours. |
| Edit | (admins only) Opens the strategy editor. |
| π | (admins only) Asks you to confirm, then deletes the strategy. Its listings become unassigned. |
How to create or edit a strategy
- Click + New strategy, or Edit on one of your strategies.
- Type a Name, pick a colour, and add a Note if you like.
- Under How we price against competitors, set each rule. The green "Example" line shows what the rule would do. - An FBA (Prime) seller holds the buy box: price a % under them, a $ amount under them, wherever the brain learns wins (it starts 12% under), or ignore FBA sellers. - The FBA seller is Amazon itself: treat Amazon like any FBA seller, go a custom % or $ under Amazon, let the brain learn the gap, or never chase Amazon and price against the others. - An FBM seller with the same delivery time holds the buy box: go a number of cents under them, match them exactly (Amazon then rotates the buy box based on seller metrics), or go a % under them. - They deliver faster than we do: for every day faster, go an extra $ amount or % lower, or let the brain learn the amount (it starts at $0.20 a day).
- Under Goal, choose Win the buy box (always take the price that wins it, then creep up while you hold it) or Most profit per day (may keep a higher price and lose the buy box part of the time when that earns more).
- Under While we hold the buy box, choose to raise the price step by step (by a % every so many minutes), let the brain test higher prices on its own, or hold the price.
- Tick Allow the brain to jump the price up if you want it to try a bigger jump when you and one competitor are stuck at the bottom and they tend to follow. It drops back if they don't follow.
- Under Limits, set how many times per hour a listing's price may change, and what to do when nobody else sells the item: go to the Max price, or hold the current price.
- Click Save strategy.
Min and Max always win. No rule can price below a listing's Min or above its Max.
How to try a strategy safely
- Create the strategy and leave its Live switch off. It is in Monitor mode.
- Assign a few listings to it on the Listings tab.
- Check the Decision log with Monitor only to see what it would have done.
- When you're happy, turn its Live switch on and confirm.
How to start sending prices to Amazon
- Make sure at least one strategy is Live and has listings.
- Turn on the master switch at the top of the Strategies tab and confirm.
- The header pill changes to pushing to Amazon.
- Optional: click π€ Send all brain prices now to send every waiting price in the next bulk feed instead of waiting for new competitor moves.
To stop all price changes at once, turn the master switch off.
Tips and troubleshooting
- A strategy is Live but no prices change. The master switch is off. Both must be on.
- Deleting a strategy doesn't change any prices. Its listings just become unassigned and stop being repriced.
- Rate cap. Amazon doesn't like prices that flip back and forth. The per-hour limit also protects you from a price war with another repricing tool.
- Built-in presets can't be edited or deleted. Make your own strategy if you need different choices.
