Shipping settings
Set up printers and the scale, bulk printing, pick lists, boxes, ship-from addresses, packing slips, hotkeys and the end-of-day SCAN form.
What it's for
Shipping settings holds everything that controls how the Shipping page works at your packing station: which printer each document goes to, the boxes you pack with, your ship-from address, what the packing slip looks like, and the end-of-day USPS SCAN form.
Rate rules and the ship PIN are also in this window. They have their own article: Shipping β rate rules and the ship PIN.
Where to find it
In the left sidebar, open Orders β Shipping, then click β in the top-right corner. The settings window has a list of sections on the left:
Printers & scales, Bulk printing, Pick lists, Rates, Packages, Ship-from, Packing slips, Hotkeys, End of day and PIN.
Most switches save as soon as you change them. Forms with their own button (a ship-from location, a box, the packing slip template, a rate rule) save only when you press that button.
The screen at a glance
Printers & scales
- USB scale β click β Connect scale and choose your scale (Chrome only). Once connected, the chip shows the current weight. Click β on any order, or press W, to fill in its weight.
- Where each document prints β one row each for Shipping labels (with the packing slip), Pick lists, SCAN form and Driver manifest. For each, pick a Printer and a Size (4Γ6 label or 8Β½Γ11 sheet). These choices are saved to your user. "Print dialog" means the normal browser print window opens.
- π Find printers β lists the printers on this computer. This needs the free QZ Tray app running.
- Print the label right after buying β when on, every label prints as soon as it is bought. This is saved on this computer.
- π¨ Test print β prints a sample 4Γ6 label.
- Printing setup help β links to download QZ Tray and a one-click setup file for a new computer. Without QZ Tray, every document opens the normal print dialog.
Bulk printing
What happens when several labels print at once. Saved on this computer.
- Print order β Order time (oldest first), Qty count (all 1-packs, then 2-packs, and so on), or Carrier (USPS together, then UPSβ¦).
- With Qty count chosen, two more switches appear:
- Separator page before a run of the same item β prints a page with a big arrow, the pack size and the item before two or more labels of the same item. π Preview shows a sample.
- Pause between pack sizes β before each new pack size, OrderPilot waits for you to press Continue. If you stop, reprint the rest from π¨ Recent prints.
- Print the packing slip under each label is always on.
Pick lists
How the warehouse gets a pick list when you select warehouse orders and press Picklist. Dropship orders never get one.
- Print on paper β always on. The sheet lists shelves in walking order, with a QR code at the top so the phone can scan units out.
- Pick on the phone / Tick-off picking on the phone β the same switch, shown twice. When on, you can open the pick list on a phone and tick each line by hand. This is faster but not checked by scanning. (owners only) β it can also be changed in the Warehouse settings.
- Group by shelf β always on. One line per shelf with all its units.
Packages
- Each saved box shows its name and width Γ height Γ length in inches.
- use for splits β when ticked, the split planner may suggest this box. Untick boxes that only suit one product.
- CTRL + β type a digit (0β9). Pressing Ctrl and that digit on the Shipping page applies this box. Clear it to remove the shortcut.
- β β deletes the box after you confirm.
- π¨ Barcode sheetβ¦ β tick the boxes you want and click Generate 4Γ6 sheet. Scanning a barcode from this sheet on the Shipping page applies that box to the active or selected orders.
- Gap to leave between units β extra space (in inches) used only when working out how many units fit in a box for a split. Leave it at 0 unless your box sizes are outside measurements or the goods can't be squeezed.
Ship-from
- Check buyer addresses automatically β when on, each new order's address is checked once when it reaches the Shipping page. A bad ZIP, or a city that doesn't match it, shows a β before anyone buys a label. Editing an address checks it again.
- Ship-from locations β the return addresses for your labels. The one marked default (the filled circle) is used on every label. Click the circle on another line to make it the default.
Packing slips
The packing slip prints under every 4Γ6 label. A live 4Γ6 preview on the right follows your changes.
- Text size β Small, Normal, Large or Extra large. Scales every part of the slip at once and saves straight away.
- Header β choose what shows on the left, center and right (store name, custom text, order number, order date or nothing), and the font size. Fill in Store name and Custom text if you use them.
- Order info β show or hide the block, the order number, order date and ship-by date.
- Ship-to block β show or hide the buyer's address.
- Items table β show or hide quantity, title, SKU, true unit counts (order quantity Γ pack size) and line dividers.
- Notes β a message printed on every slip, such as "Thank you for your order!".
- Barcode β prints the order number as a barcode.
- Giant ship-qty circle β a big bold unit count in a circle, so the packer sees at a glance how many units go in the box.
- On the shipping LABEL β prints a small reference line on the label itself with the OP number, SKU, catalog SKU and/or total quantity.
- Each part has its own font box for fine-tuning.
Hotkeys
A reference list of keyboard shortcuts. They work only when you are not typing in a box (except Ctrl + digit, which also works in the search box).
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| P | Buy and print the label for the active row (the last row you clicked). |
| W | Read the USB scale into the active row's weight. |
| Ctrl + 0β9 | Apply the box assigned to that digit β to the selected rows, or the active row. |
End of day
- USPS SCAN form β one form the USPS driver scans instead of every package. Earlier forms are listed by day, with a print button for each form and Print both for the day.
- Driver manifest β a sheet listing every package shipped on the chosen date, grouped by carrier, with counts, tracking numbers and a signature box for the pickup driver.

How to set your ship-from address
- Open β β Ship-from and click οΌ Add location.
- Fill in name or company, address, city, state (2 letters), ZIP and phone.
- Fill in Email. Amazon requires it on the label.
- Click Save location. Your first location becomes the default.
How to set up label printing on a new computer
- Install and start QZ Tray (use Download the one-click setup in Printers & scales).
- Click π Find printers.
- In Shipping labels, pick your label printer and 4Γ6 label.
- Pick printers for pick lists, the SCAN form and the driver manifest.
- Click π¨ Test print to check.
How to add a box and give it a hotkey
- Open β β Packages.
- Type the box name and its width, height and length in inches, then click οΌ Add / update.
- In the box's CTRL + field, type a digit, for example 1.
- On the Shipping page, click an order (or select several) and press Ctrl + 1 to apply the box.
How to close out the day
- After the last label of the day, open β β End of day.
- Click Create SCAN forms (Veeqo + Amazon) and confirm. OrderPilot creates two forms: one for USPS labels bought through Veeqo and one for USPS labels bought through Amazon Buy Shipping, covering every label not already on a form. A new line for today appears, and its buttons spin while each form is built. A large Veeqo form can take a couple of minutes.
- When the buttons are ready, click π¨ Print both.
- Choose today's date next to Driver manifest and click π¨ Print for the driver to sign.
Labels bought after you create the forms need a new set.
Tips and troubleshooting
- "Scale blocked by the browser frame" β reload the whole app (Ctrl+Shift+R) and try again. The scale only works in Chrome.
- Prints open a print window instead of printing straight away. QZ Tray isn't running, or no printer is chosen for that document.
- No SCAN form was created. The message says why for each one β often there were no new USPS labels waiting. If Veeqo is still building the form, check the list again in a minute.
- Bulk printing settings and "Print the label right after buying" are saved per computer, so each packing station can work differently. Printer choices are saved to your user.
